About MHL Collection
The MHL Hotel Collection is a collection of unique and individual hotels in key city and resort locations throughout Ireland. From the bustling city centres of Dublin, Belfast, Galway and Limerick , to picturesque and historic estates in Wicklow and Galway, each of our hotels has its own distinct personality and charm. Our Partners
John Malone
John Malone is Chairman of the Board of Liberty Media Corporation, Liberty Broadband Corporation, Liberty Expedia Holdings, Inc,. GCI Liberty, Inc., and Liberty Global plc. In Ireland, Liberty Global’s interests include Virgin Media Ireland and TV3. From 1996 to March 1999, when Tele-Communications, Inc. (TCI) merged with AT&T Corp., he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TCI. Previous to that, from 1973 to 1996, Dr. Malone served as President and Chief Executive Officer of TCI. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Qurate Retail Group, Inc., Discovery Communications, Inc., Charter Communications, Inc., Expedia, Inc. and Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. Additionally, Dr. Malone is Chairman Emeritus of the Board for Cable Television Laboratories, Inc. In addition to his involvement in MHL Hotel Collection, John and Leslie Malone’s other interests in Ireland include Humewood Estate which they have painstakingly restored, Castlemartin House and Stud, and Ballylinch Stud.
Paul Higgins
Paul is involved in all aspects of MHL’s operations and has played a key role in its acquisition growth over the last 5 years. Paul was a Director of Lalco Holdings (a property development company) that developed many Irish properties including the Hilton Dublin Kilmainham (opened in 2006) and the Limerick Strand Hotel, which opened as a Hilton hotel in 2006. Prior to Lalco, Paul was Director of Goodbody Corporate Finance, and an Associate Director of HSBC Investment Bank in London. Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
John Lally
John has worked extensively on property developments throughout Ireland since the early 1990’s. Operating under the Lalco Group, John’s companies developed numerous medium to large scale developments throughout Ireland from 1990 to 2008, many of which included hotel developments. In 1993 John established Barnacles Holiday Hostels in Galway and quickly expanded the business to Dublin and Waterford. Johns first entry into the Hotel market was with the opening of the Harbour Hotel in Galway followed by the opening of Hilton Dublin Kilmainham in 2006 and the Limerick Strand Hotel, then Hilton Limerick in 2017. His most notable developments are – Kilmainham Square Dublin 8, Vantage Residential/Commercial project in Leopardstown, Dublin 18 and the Limerick Strand project in Limerick. John trained as Quantity Surveyor and spent the first 5 years of his career working on the Canary Wharf Development for Olympia & York.

Dan Sierra
US Director
Dan is Vice President of Group Finance and Capital Markets in John Malone’s family office in the US. He has direct oversight and responsibility of equity and interest rate derivative trading, equity trading, balance sheet risk management and hedging activities. Dan has worked closely with the Partners to develop and build the MHL Hotel Collection.
Eric Trainor
Group Finance Director
Eric has worked in the hotel industry for over 15 years. A graduate from NUIG in Commerce, he worked in audit practice before getting involved in hospitality. Eric has a close understanding of the hospitality industry with extensive involvement in operational and financial aspects of the business. He has provided the leadership required in transitioning new acquisitions into the MHL group – enabling improved financial performance both directly to property and through group opportunities.
Pauline Corcoran
Group Director of Sales & Marketing
Pauline has worked in the hotel industry for over 25 years and is a graduate in Business and Hotel and Catering Management from DIT Cathal Brugha Street. Pauline has worked in both the UK and Ireland and has extensive experience in the sales and marketing aspects of the hotel industry, having worked for both global hotel brands as well as independent hotels.
Sara Dalzell
Group Director of Human Resources
An experienced Human Resources Professional, with over 15 years’ experience within the hotel industry. Sara graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University, with a degree in Business Management and Marketing. After graduating Sara went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management and became CIPD qualified. Sara has extensive human resources experience with a specialization in talent management including workforce planning, recruiting, performance management, employee development and employee engagement. She also has considerable experience managing employee relations, benefits, compensation and compliance issues.
Peter Borralnan
Group Operations Director
Peter has been involved in the hospitality industry for over two decades and brings a background in hotel operations across multiple continents. Peter’s vast experience covers day-to-day operations in both branded and non-branded hotels.
Cian Mc Donagh
Group Director of Digital Strategy & Marketing
Cian has over 14 years experience in digital, marketing and technology transformation across both Ireland and the UK. Cian spent 6 years working in media agencies in London and Dublin, where he led the digital marketing efforts across a number of market-leading brands. He then moved brand-side, where he led the digital marketing teams in Three Ireland and KBC, leading a number of multi-award winning marketing campaigns and driving progressive digital change. Cian leads a department of 14 digital and marketing experts, based across Dublin, Galway and Limerick.
Caroline Wade
Group Revenue Director
With over 25 years of extensive experience in the hospitality industry, Caroline has established a strong reputation as a leader in reservations and revenue management. Specialising in maximising profitability and operational efficiency, Caroline has honed her expertise through hands-on experience working across global markets, including the USA, Australia, and the Cayman Islands. Throughout Caroline’s career, she has collaborated with leading hotel brands, boutique properties, and international resorts, implementing innovative revenue strategies that have consistently driven business growth. Her approach focuses on optimizing room pricing, forecasting demand, and utilising advanced systems to enhance both customer satisfaction and profitability.
Fiona Lally
Group Sustainability Director
Fiona has worked extensively in the construction and utilities industry for over 25 years, holds an MBA and Civil Engineering degree from University of Galway, as well as an Applied Diploma in Project Management. Fiona has gained a broad experience in project, program, and stakeholder management across a variety of sectors including financial services and semi-state bodies.
